Barnaut Le Chemin des Go\u00ebsses 1er Cru Extra Brut –\u00a0one of Champagne Barnaut’s most contemporary creations, reflecting the House’s modern approach to Champagne making.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Champagne Barnaut is one of the oldest family-owned Champagne houses in the Grand Cru village of Bouzy, with a history dating back to the 19th century. Today, Philippe and Guillaume Second\u00e9 continue the family’s philosophy, built on respect for terroir and traditions passed down through generations. Le Chemin des Go\u00ebsses<\/strong> is a cuv\u00e9e created as a tribute to the legacy of Guillaume’s two grandfathers.<\/p>\n

This Champagne originates from two historic family vineyards: Vignes Go\u00ebsses<\/strong>, planted with Chardonnay in the Grand Cru village of Tours-sur-Marne, and Remise du Chemin de Louvois<\/strong>, located in the Premier Cru village of Tauxi\u00e8res. Although separated by only a few hundred metres, these vineyards express two complementary Champagne terroirs. With an annual production of only around 2,000 bottles<\/strong>, it is one of Champagne Barnaut’s rarest cuv\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

The wine is crafted from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay<\/strong>, with half of the blend composed of reserve wines. It adds greater complexity and stylistic consistency. The vines average 64 years of age<\/strong>, while the 0.7398-hectare<\/strong> vineyards are farmed according to sustainable viticulture principles. Rather than uprooting old vines, they are gradually renewed through individual vine replacement, preserving their genetic heritage and the unique identity of the vineyards.<\/p>\n

The grapes are harvested entirely by hand. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks at 18\u00b0C<\/strong>. The wine is aged on its fine lees and undergoes full malolactic fermentation, during which sharp malic acid is naturally converted into softer lactic acid, creating a rounder texture. Before release, the Champagne spends approximately 3.5 years<\/strong> ageing in the cellars. A restrained Extra Brut dosage (3 g\/L)<\/strong> allows the wine’s natural fruit character and minerality to shine while preserving its remarkable precision.<\/p>\n

Aroma & Taste<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

The nose is elegant and precise, revealing aromas of candied citrus, ripe white fruits and white flowers. With time in the glass, delicate notes of toasted almonds, buttery brioche, fresh mint and chalky minerality gradually emerge, adding complexity and refinement.<\/p>\n

On the palate, the Champagne is fresh, harmonious and remarkably precise. Fine, persistent bubbles create a silky, creamy texture, beautifully balanced by vibrant acidity and subtle minerality. The long finish reveals layers of citrus zest, white fruits, delicate spice and a gently saline chalky character, leaving a refreshing and elegant impression.<\/p>\n

Serving<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

Serve at 11\u201312\u00b0C<\/strong> in a large white wine glass or tulip-shaped Champagne glass. Allow the wine to breathe for a few minutes before serving to fully reveal its aromatic complexity.<\/p>\n
