Description
Bruno Paillard Assemblage 2008 is a Champagne from an exceptional vintage, reflecting refinement, long-term aging potential, and a delicate balance between fruitiness and minerality. This blend is dominated by Pinot Noir (42%) and Chardonnay (42%), carefully selected from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards. The remaining portion is Pinot Meunier, which brings a touch of fruitiness to the blend.
The 2008 harvest was marked by exceptionally favorable weather conditions – a cold winter, a slow but steady spring, and a dry, sunny September that allowed the grapes to reach perfect ripeness. The wine was aged on the lees for more than 9 years, followed by at least 1 additional year in bottle after disgorgement to achieve perfect harmony.
The aroma reveals complex layers – lemon zest, baked almonds, white flowers, and subtle mineral notes. On the palate, it shows elegance, structure, and a well-preserved acidity that brings freshness and great aging potential. The long finish is a testament to the high class and distinctiveness of this Champagne.
