Description
Bruno Paillard Blanc de Blancs Millésime 1996 Magnum is an exceptional Champagne made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, sourced from the prestigious Côte des Blancs region. The 1996 vintage is considered one of the greatest of the 20th century in Champagne – marked by high acidity and excellent sugar concentration, resulting in wines of remarkable longevity and complexity. In magnum format, the Champagne matures more slowly and harmoniously, preserving even more freshness and depth.
This Champagne was aged on the lees for about 9 years and then continued to evolve quietly in the magnum bottle after disgorgement. The color is a pale gold with a hint of green, and the bubbles are extremely fine and persistent. The aroma reveals an elegant blend of white flowers, lemon zest, fresh almonds, brioche, and mineral notes. On the palate, it shows precise structure, vibrant acidity, delicate creaminess, and a long, lingering finish.
Bruno Paillard Blanc de Blancs Millésime 1996 Magnum is best served at 10–12 °C in tall Champagne glasses – ideally tulip-shaped – to allow the full expression of aromas and the texture of the bubbles. It pairs beautifully with fresh seafood, SOMM oysters, dorado, ceviche, or mackerel sashimi.
In magnum format, this Champagne has even greater aging potential. When stored correctly (in a cool, dark, humid place, on its side), it can age gracefully for another 15–20 years or more. Over time, it will reveal even more subtle layers of nuttiness, honey, dried fruits, and deep mineral nuances.
