Description
Bruno Paillard Le Mesnil Grand Cru 1990 Magnum – this is a Champagne of historical significance, originating from one of the most prestigious locations in Champagne – Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. It is renowned for its pure, mineral-driven, and long-aging Chardonnay profile.
The 1990 vintage is considered one of the legendary years in Champagne. Ideal weather conditions – a warm spring, dry summer, and stable September – allowed the grapes to reach perfect ripeness. It was one of the first great years after a cold decade, when Chardonnay developed not only structure but also an unusual concentration. This wine was bottled in magnum format, where fermentation and aging occur more slowly, resulting in a Champagne that is richer, deeper, and longer-lived.
After more than 10 years of aging on the lees, Bruno Paillard Le Mesnil Grand Cru 1990 Magnum has fully revealed its potential. From dried white fruits, gentle toasted nuts, and brioche to marine salinity and chalky minerality. The Champagne is defined by its impeccable structure – creamy texture, fresh acidity, and an extraordinarily long, elegant finish.
Each magnum in this release is marked with its disgorgement date. Bruno Paillard was one of the first in Champagne to include this on the label. Not as a marketing trick, but as a deliberate gesture for wine lovers seeking to understand the Champagne’s stage of maturity.
