Description
Louis Jadot Santenay Clos de Malte 2022
Louis Jadot Santenay Clos de Malte 2022 – elegant, fruity, with notes of spice and earthiness.
Louis Jadot is one of the most important wineries in Burgundy, both in terms of quantity and quality. It was founded in 1859. This producer owns over 211 hectares of land, and as many as 112 of them are Premier and Grand Cru categories. It is not surprising that the portfolio of this winery is very wide, starting with inexpensive Burgundy and Beaujolais wines and ending with the production of famous appellations, small vineyards.
One of such wines is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. They are grown in the village of Santenay, in the southern part of the Cote de Beaune. The berries for this wine are registered in the 7-hectare Clos de Malte vineyard, which belongs exclusively to the Louis Jadot producer. The soil here is dominated by moist limestone and clay. Therefore, the wine has earthy and mineral nuances. This wine is hand-picked to preserve the quality of the grapes. The grapes are macerated (stored with the skins) for 3-4 weeks in open wooden or stainless steel tanks. This wine is then aged for 18 months in oak barrels, one third of which are new.
Louis Jadot Santenay Clos de Malte 2022 can be consumed now or stored for another 5-8 years.
We recommend decanting the wine and serving it slightly chilled, at a temperature of 16-17°C.
Goes well with grilled tuna, red poultry and various “terrines”.
