Description
Marc Morey Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chevenottes 2023 – is an elegant and refined white Burgundy from the prestigious Chassagne-Montrachet appellation in the Côte de Beaune region of France. This Premier Cru classified wine is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown in the “Les Chevenottes” vineyard. The site is characterized by limestone and clay soils and a favorable southeast exposure. These terroir conditions give the wine its distinctive mineral character, freshness, and elegant structure.
The 2023 vintage stands out for its harmonious balance of fruit and freshness. The aroma reveals notes of white flowers, ripe apples, pears, and citrus fruits. These are complemented by subtle nuances of butter, toasted oak, and vanilla. On the palate the wine is concentrated yet maintains a precise structure and vibrant acidity. Its mineral character and elegant texture lead to a long, clean, and refined finish.
The wine is fermented and aged in French oak barrels, some of which are new. Ageing on the lees provides additional complexity and a gentle creamy texture. Thanks to its excellent structure and balance, the wine can be enjoyed in its youth, but it also has strong ageing potential and over 10–15 years can develop more complex notes of honey, nuts, and deeper minerality.
Marc Morey Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru “Les Chevenottes” pairs beautifully with high-quality seafood, lobster, grilled fish, poultry in creamy sauces, and aged cheeses. It is a classic example of Burgundy Chardonnay, expressing the elegance, subtlety, and exceptional quality of the Chassagne-Montrachet terroir.
