Description
Mascota Vineyards Unanime 2020 – full bodied wine, that shows complex dar berry character.
Mascota Winery was founded 29 years ago. Its founder, Rodolfo Sadler, is one of Argentina’s most talented, who began his career in the wine industry in the early ’80s. Since then, he has worked closely with some of Argentina’s best wine growers and produced wines that have been appreciated around the wine world. The vineyards of this winery cover an area of 97 hectares and are located at the foot of the Andes Mountains, just a thousand meters from the Mendoza River. This results in a wide temperature range: the fresh winds that cool the vineyards as they descend from the mountains and the humidity coming from the river. Therefore, the grapes are fully ripe and have a maturity of phenols.
Unanime’s 2017 harvest blend is made from 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Malbec and 15% Cabernet Franc. All of the grapes are grown in the San Carlos vineyard in the Uco Valley, Mendoza region.
The average age of the vines is 30 years. The crop is picked by hand, carefully selecting bunches of healthy and fully ripe berries. Wine fermentation and maceration (storage with skins) lasts for 19 days in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 20 months in new French oak barrels. Before bottling, the wine is filtered.
