Description
Olivier Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 2022 is a superb example of white Burgundy, crafted from carefully selected Chardonnay grapes grown on the chalky, well-drained slopes of the Puligny-Montrachet village. The unique terroir of this region allows the wine to express freshness, precise mineral character, and a delicate structure. The grapes are hand-harvested to preserve their natural freshness and quality.
Fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, 20–25% of which are new, adding complexity and depth. The wine is then briefly rested in stainless steel tanks to maintain a clean and pure flavor profile. Malolactic fermentation gives the wine softness and richness, while keeping it vibrant and well-structured. The 2022 vintage benefited from favorable weather conditions, resulting in a perfect balance of ripeness and freshness.
This wine pairs beautifully with seafood dishes such as SOMM’s perch ceviche, mackerel sashimi, white meats, or soft cheeses. It also has excellent aging potential, with the ability to evolve gracefully over the next 5–8 years.
