Description

Weingut Knipser Kirschgarten Spatburgunder Grosse Lage VDP 2019 is an expressive, well-matured Spatburgunger (Pinot Noir) from Phalz region in Germany.

The Knipser wine house is one of the first to be located in the Phalz region in 1876 in the town of Laumersheim. Heinz Knipser began his intensive career in 1948.

Innovative ideas for producing high-quality, dry white wines that were characteristic of those times have laid a great foundation for future generations and are maintained to this day. Knipser Wine House is famous for its premium Riesling and Pinot Noir grape wines aged in oak barrels. Also, never compromise on quality. For this reason, Knipser uses only its own grapes and doesn’t have need to grow or expand. And now this winery only produces up to 400,000 bottles a year. The Weingut Knipser Kirschgarten Spatburgunder is a German Grand Cru-level vineyard, first mentioned in history in 1654. Weingut Knipser Kirschgarten Spatburgunder Grosse Lage wine, after traditional fermentation with peels, is aged in new Burgundy oak barrels for 18-20 months and then for another 3 years in a bottle before being released for sale.

Taste:

The influence of oak and the aromas of red berries are perfectly revealed in the wine. Fruity on the mouth, exuding fresh acid and mild tannins.

Serving:

We recommend serving this wine slightly chilled. It is best to enjoy this wine at a temperature of 14-16 degrees. It’s also just worth decanting the wine and letting it breathe for at least 30 minutes. Enjoy in a wider glass of Pinot Noir grapes. The wine can be enjoyed now or stored for another 8-10 years.
